I originally began searching for a blanket that I could use by itself (not need three within reach if it got too hot or cold) and found this one. Yes, it commands a hefty price tag but it is worth every penny!
I can't sleep if it is hot, it must be very cool in my home and using normal blankets, I used to constantly wake up from over heating. Not anymore though. This blanket somehow manages to truly regulate the perfect sleeping temperature.
In fact I loved it so much I bought one I my mother because she always tells me how her hot flashes kept her up all night. Since using the blanket she says she sleeps 80% better due to maintaing body temperature levels.

Washing it poses no issues and it isn't fragile so you can treat it like any other blanket. Plus-- It is oversized! More blanket for the money! Not too soft but not rough or heavy at all. The quilted patch work add to its appearance and comfort.
