10369 ACU Army Digital Fleece Blanket Review

It is what it is and does what it's supposed to. It's very warm, very very comfortable and has a good pattern on it. It's lightweight and compacts very tightly--enough to snuggle in amongst your other sleep gear without really needing much more room. When rolled up it's just slightly larger than other compact "backpack" blankets of equal size, and it's maybe just under a pound heavier than those. Its biggest con is that fleece acts like velcro for twigs and leaves and such, but it can all be knocked off fairly easily. You won't hear me complaining about any of these con's when weighed against its numerous pro's.

While I carry a sleeping bag, a tent and a pad, this blanket serves me very well as a wrap-around while I eat chow, as a floor and even a plush pillow that quickly turns into a concealment blanket to go investigate noises while staying warm. Being that it has a good camouflage pattern the uses for it are probably endless. I've even used it to effectively conceal my valuable gear in some cover while I tended to other business away from basecamp. It's also the blanket I keep on hand while on the couch watching the tube and whatnot.

The quality is equally as great, utilizing a reinforced liner sewn around the edges. The thickness of the fleece is like a blanket so you won't be accidentially shoving a toe through it, and it holds up just fine in the wash. Being fleece it is nowhere near invincible but even so, in terms of destructibility, I feel it holds its own against any other lightweight blanket; and unlike most of those blankets, this one is dead silent when ruffled. I wouldn't pack without it.
