Biddeford 100% Poly Knit Queen Linen MicroPlush Heated Blanket Review

Compared to my previous two Sunbeam blankets that were rather scratchy, this blanket is super soft. But more importantly, this blanket is warmer than the last Sunbeam ever was. Both Sunbeams quit heating on one or both sides within about three years. Hopefully, this blanket will last longer than they did. The only problem with this blanket is that it is so soft that little dogs that love blankets will want to nest on it and can easily snag it. Of course, the instructions say to keep pets off of it. My dog does not read.

Update Dec. 22, 2011 - I carefully folded and stored the blanket while it was not needed during warm/hot weather. This fall I got it back out and it is still working perfectly! My dog is so happy!

My family and I suffer from many allergies so anything that may lessen our suffering is a plus for our home. When I received the cover I immediately took it out and put it on the bed. It was easy enough to do that, no problem. I liked the feel of it and how well it fitted. There were no lumps, it was inviting in a way and had the look of comfort. I put my sheets on with no trouble, they fit fine over the cover. Now the test of 'does it feel lumpy when you lay down' was next. I tried it and had others in my family try as well and there were no complaints. Smooth, and comfortable. Not positive on the allergen report as yet. I do know we did not sneeze as much in bed, but I think it may take more time to give an honest report on that. All in all this is a well made, comfortable mattress protector and so far I am very pleased with it.

Divatex 400 Thread Count Woven Dobby Stripe Cotton Sateen Twin Sheet Set, Black Review

My preference for sheets is Wamsutta 400 count cotton sateen but I didn't have that option in the color and size I wanted. So I ordered just the pillowcases to try them out and was disappointed. The cases are soft enough that I guests won't think I'm cheap but not soft enough to impress. They are well constructed, good thickness, washed well and fit the king pillows with no problem. I will wash them again and see if I can't get them to soften up some more.

Cotton polyester blend sheets are hard to find at any price and finding a set the right size and at $34.99 was a risk I was willing to take for a brand I didn't recognize. The old cotton poly blends of the 1980's didn't wrinkle and lasted decades. Alas these are not it. These come from Pakistan. They are not a percale, they are a thin oxford cloth or chambray. It makes for a stiffer sheet, like sleeping in your work shirt. The fibers are short and after the first wash they were already showing signs of pilling. They came out of dryer wrinkled by the second wash. The cream is really a beige, a nondescript one at that. I'm going to give these to a friend who is setting up housekeeping with my apologies, but at least they will get used until she can afford to replace them. You can find better sheets at a comparable price. Best use for these sheets? Young males who won't notice.
